This year, TransFormation multiplies its creative affiliations by choosing a bold and dynamic program. Creation laboratories of various disciplines are offered, allowing the diversity of the participants to expand. The program draws dancers from all over Canada: Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, Calgary, Vancouver and Halifax as well as from New York, Boston, San Francisco, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Japan and Israel.
The 2017 edition brings together a record number of 170 dancers, choreographers and teachers for two intensive weeks of research, exchange, experimentation and discussion crossing the spectrum of contemporary dance. Our six choreographers, Danièle Desnoyers, Benoît Lachambre, Louis-Martin Charest, David Albert-Toth + Emily Gualtieri and Alexandra 'Spicey' Landé invite the dancers into an in-depth exploration of their respective choreographic processes. In addition, Éric Beauchesne, Shamel Pitts, Kristina and Sadé Alleyne, Peter Jasko, Angélique Willkie, LA Horde, Caroline Laurin-Beaucage, Gerard Reyes, Jean Bui and Sovann Prom Tep share a diversity of expertise in the morning workshops.
In the end, we are all left completely inspired and TRANSFORMED!
