TransFormation 2018 brought together 200 dancers, choreographers, and teachers for two intense weeks of research, exchange, experimentation, and discussion covering the spectrum of contemporary dance.
TransFormation draws dancers from all over Canada, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Québec, Vancouver et Halifax, as well as from New York, Boston, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, and Taiwan.

This year, TransFormation multiplies its creative affiliations by choosing a bold and dynamic program. Creation laboratories of various disciplines are offered, allowing the diversity of the participants to expand.
The program draws dancers from all over Canada: Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, Calgary, Vancouver and Halifax as well as from New York, Boston, San Francisco, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Japan and Israel.
10th anniversary - 3 weeks - 165 dancers
For this 10th anniversary edition of TransFormation, we welcome internationally acclaimed artists Jose Agudo, Laura Aris-Alvarez et James O’Hara. In addition, we are fortunate to have Gioconda Barbuto, Virginie Brunelle, Paul-André Fortier, Mistaya Hemingway, Ismaël Mouaraki and Manuel Roque lead the creation laboratories. Each artist’s creative world leaves a lasting impression in the minds of the participants. This year, 165 dancers from all disciplines unite for the purpose of moving, exploring and evolving together.
They come from Montréal, Ontario, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, and Germany. As an added dose of discovery and inspiration, during the first week of the workshop, 5 Montréal artists; Frédérick Gravel, Catherine Gaudet, Louise Bédard, Robert Abudo and Louise Lecavalier, present their work within the FTA
During this three week intensive program, a feeling of effervescence reached an undeniable peak.
TransFormation 2015 saw more than 125 artists in two intensive weeks of contemporary dance. The participants came from all the companies of Montreal: Les Grands Ballets, la Compagnie Marie Chouinard, RUBBERBANDance Group, O’Vertigo, Compagnie Virginie Brunelle, as well as recent graduates of EDCM, ESBQ, UQAM and Concordia University
The program drew artists from Paris, New York, Toronto, Ottawa, Québec, Calgary and Vancouver.
