Workshop description:

Workshop

Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep’s workshop will use the creation process of Un temps pour tout as a point of inspiration.  In this approach, the performer’s desires and values become the source material of the work.  Guided by reflections and questionings, participants will be encouraged to take a look at their personal practice and to reflect upon strategies to share the time and space of artistic communication.  In a spirit of mediation, he uses this creation workshop to generate a space of benevolent encounters and personal growth. This workshop is open to all stage artists or performers.

Biography:

Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, aka Promo, grew up immersed in Montreal’s breaking community. He became a member of the Sweet Technique group, with whom he participated in many competitions, further developing his talents. To date, he has chalked up over thirty victories and is frequently invited to take part in competitions around the world, as both a participant and as a judge. His passion for the mastery of the body spurred him to enter the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal in 2011 from which he graduated in 2015. Since then, he has worked with Animals of Distinction, Castel_Blast, RUBBERBANDance Group, 14 lieux, Lilith & Cie, and Susanna Hood. Sovann continues to refine his approach through his own creations and the different workshops he teaches.
